lesliekm What makes a practice "PROMISING"? 5 Feb 17 2009, 11:19 AM EST by drtorres

I just read and posted to the news page an article in the New Yorker by Malcom Gladwell about what makes teachers effective? Some of the qualities he sites are "regard for student perspective", teacher sensitivity, "withitness", flexibility, high quality individual student feedback with back and forth exchange to get a deeper understanding...

Should these be some of the things we look for in practices that we label as "promising"?
If we were to create a video of promising practice- how would you show these things- or if you taped a segment of a good teacher, would these things just BE there. I'd LOVE some conversation around this. We want to add videos of promising practice to this wiki...maybe defining what promising looks like can help us...I highly recommend that you read this article- ESPECIALLY if you like football?! :)

beckyingj Problems Adding Digital Projects and Products 0 Sep 25 2008, 6:19 PM EDT by beckyingj

I have been wanting to see some examples of student and teacher work, so I've posted a few from my school and district to get things started. However, I wanted to organize the information into a table and found I couldn't add links into a table cell. I had to create the link in Word and then copy and paste it into the table. I thought I created some links directly in WetPaint using the Link button in edit mode, but they disappeared. I am much more familiar with Wikispaces, so I'm not sure what I did wrong. Any suggestions? Anyway, I did get some links added and would love to see examples from other schools!
